Church in Velha Boipeba, Bahia.

Questions

Everything people ask us on WhatsApp before they come, in one place.

01

Getting here

I land in Salvador in the afternoon. Can I reach Boipeba the same day?

Usually not by boat: the last fast boat from Valença leaves at 4 p.m. Plan a night in Salvador or Valença. The only way to arrive later is a private air-taxi charter.

Is there a tourist fee to enter Boipeba?

Cairu announced a R$50-per-person tourism fee for Boipeba, but the start was postponed and, as of October 2026, there is no confirmed date. Children under 5 and visitors over 60 are exempt. Message us before you travel and we'll tell you whether it's being charged that week.

Will someone meet me at the pier?

No. Getting from the pier to the guesthouse is up to you: walk through the village to Praça Santo Antônio, 174, first floor, above the red pharmacy. At the pier there are porters with wheelbarrows you can hire on the spot if you want help with your bags.

What if I am running late or arrive after 18:30?

Let us know in advance, by WhatsApp or by email. The reception is open from 08:00 to 18:30, and those two channels are the only way the team hears about a delay.

02

Booking

Is breakfast included?

We don't run a restaurant. Each apartment has a kitchenette, and there are cafés two minutes away. Ask us and we'll set it up.

03

The stay

Is there a reception?

Yes. The reception is open every day from 08:00 to 18:30. That is where you collect your key at check-in (from 14:30) and hand it back at check-out (by 11:30). Someone from the team is always there during those hours; if the desk is empty for a moment, just ring the bell.

Can I leave my bags before check-in or after check-out?

No. The guesthouse has no luggage storage, so bags come in at check-in (from 14:30) and leave with you at check-out (by 11:30). If your boat lands early, plan lunch or a beach stop with a light bag.

04

The island

Are there cars on the island?

No. People walk, take tractors or quad-bike taxis. Velha Boipeba, where we are, is walkable: pier, restaurants and the beach are minutes away on foot. The guesthouse has no parking.
